Well, we are home and doing well.  We got home from Cincinnati on May 27th.  I am so sorry I haven't updated the site in a while.  We have been soooo busy.  Mikayla's trach is out and she is doing so great!!!  We went back for a follow up scope and dilation of her trachea, however when they got in there her trachea had very little scar tissue and they did not have to dilate her.  We are going back September 3rd for another scope but we get to enjoy the summer!!!  Mikayla is loving swimming, playing outside, and is slowly learning that she has a voice.  We are starting speech therapy on the 7th and we are excited about that.  I started back to work full time and Mikayla is going to daycare for a couple hours per day.  She is eating a lot, not drinking much, but doing FANTASTIC!!!  We plan to go to Dallas late July for a FUN family trip.  Thanks to everyone who has prayed for Mikayla.  I know that she would not have done so well without all the prayers.  God has been so good to us.  Love to all.

I just wanted to express my thoughts and feelings here on this website.  I have asked from day one why this had to happen to my little girl.  I am now at peace with everything because I believe first of all that God never gives us something that we can’t handle.  The second reason is that I know that God chooses parents for special needs kiddos.  I feel honored and very lucky that God felt that John and I could provide for Mikayla in the way that she needed.  We are so blessed by Mikayla and I feel that our lives have been so touched and enriched by just being around her.  She is truly God’s angel and our little miracle.  Thanks again to everyone who prayed for strength for John and me.  We are truly blessed by each one of you.  I hope you know that we pray daily for each of you too.  Thanks again.
